From the beginning, the school has tapped into the talents of local chefs including some with national and international renown. Both the hands on and demonstration cooking classes give students a sense of the culture and history of the area. Each entertaining and fun class ends with a meal from the day’s recipes. It is some of the best food in Santa Fe. Students leave with recipes in hand, the skills needed to prepare the dishes, and the enthusiasm to go home and cook. They frequently leave with the ingredients and even cookware from the Santa Fe Cooking School’s market so they can easily recreate the dishes at home.

The school’s bright, airy regional market features southwestern ingredients, prepared foods, cookware, cookbooks, kitchen accessories, gift items and more. Many items such as handcrafted pottery (from New Mexico and Colombia) and the alligator juniper cutting boards from southern New Mexico are both functional and decorative. Want to take home the perfect Santa Fe gifts for the food lovers at home? Stop by and shop.

The school also offers four different Restaurant Tours for people who want to experience an overview of Santa Fe dining. Each tour visits four popular eateries for a sampling of their offerings. It’s a great way to experience local upscale dining spots while meeting their chefs.
