Santa Fe art: It’s time for ARTFeast

This post about ARTFeast that first appeared in 2012 and has been updated for 2015. This years event has some changes.

Santa Fe’s food and art lovers know that the last weekend in February means ARTFeast. Now in its 18th year, it’s one of the most anticipated events on the Santa Fe art and food scenes. The 2014 edition is from Friday, February 20th through Sunday, February 22nd  at various venues around town. The weekend is a fund-raiser for ARTsmart, an organization that funds art programs in Santa Fe schools.

On Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 4pm, Santa Fe Properties invites the public to their Art of Home Tour. This tour features a selection of grand estates and charming casitas currently on the market.  Each home features art specifically selected for the tour. Maps of the self-guided tour are available online and at both the real estate and ARTsmart offices.

One of the high points of ARTFeast is student-painted plates which will be auctioned at two events during the weekend. It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere, a cocktail event will be held at the Peters Project at 1011 Paseo de Peralta. Noted Taos Pueblo Fashion designer, Patricia Michaels who appeared on the Project Runway TV show from 6 to 8pm. The following evening, there’s the Step up to the Plate Gala Dinner at the Santa Fe Convention Center starting at 6pm. There will a live and silent auction. Items to be auctioned include inclusion in Valerie Plame, the event’s chair’s next novel.

Whether you’re a food fan, an art lover, civic minded or just want to see and be seen, put ARTFeast on your must-do list.

The Edible Art Tour pairing galleries with local restaurants and food purveyors draws crowds will be held in June 2015. The change: the Edible Art Tour which was held on ARTFeast Friday has been moved to June. Now art and food lovers will be able to stroll from gallery to gallery in warm weather. The other change is that the event will be held over two nights. On Friday, June 12th it takes place in Downtown galleries. The following, the event will move to Canyon Road.  Ticket, $35 each, can be used on either or both nights. It’s a great deal!
