Name that film

What movie is this house from, photo Steve Collins

Okay all you film trivia buffs, what movie, shot in New Mexico’s Santa Fe County, is this house from? Do you need hints? Let us know and we’ll add one per day until someone guesses. The prize: we’ll acknowledge your brilliance and film acumen on Twitter. If you worked on the film or are an NM film insider- don’t be a spoiler!

Day 2 Clue: The movie is from 2006.

Another Clue: The male lead was married to half of a VERY hot “Hollywood” couple. That should make it easy!

Want to tour film locations? Contact us and we can set that up for you.

We have a winner. Papillon Scorcese made the correct guess. The answer is The Astronaut Farmer starring Billy Bob Thornton. Thanks for playing Papillion and everyone else who made a guess.

Thanks for playing- no one else did. That wasn’t the film I was thinking of- but I think your answer may also be correct as the trees that Robert Duvall sat under in Lonesome Dove are right there. Great memory! That was shot a long time ago. Since Lonesome Doves is technically a mini-series and not a film- you get credit for a great answer and a Tweet. Let’s see if anyone can come up with the film. What’s your Twitter handle so we can give you a shout-out?

This house has been featured in a number of different films, but it was built for “Silverado”.

That wasn’t the film I was going for- but I’ll bet you’re right as it was filmed there- you were on the disqualification list as you have insider info. Let’s see if someone knows the more recent film it was used in.

No- it’s at Bonanza Creek Ranch where Cowboys and Aliens was filmed- but it doesn’t appear in that film.

Nope- but thanks for guessing. Maybe this is more obscure than I thought. I saw it on TV- probably HBO.
