The Friday evening of Thanksgiving Weekend was the official Santa Fe Christmas Tree Lighting. The City Different does Christmas differently. Rather than decorate just one Christmas tree, every tree in the historic Plaza is aglow with colorful lights. Whether you live here or are visiting, it’s magical. Take a deep breath as you walk and you may smell the deliciously pungent aroma of piñon smoke from wood burning fireplaces. If you don’t want to make a special trip downtown to see the lights, go to the annual Christmas at the Palace (Friday, December 11th) or Las Posadas (on Sunday, the 13th) and you can enjoy the festivities as well as see the lights. You’ll find more holiday events in Tidbits.
