We found this rusty ’54 Pontiac while taking a drive on the High Road from Santa Fe to Taos. New Mexico is a great place for finding old cars because the climate is dry and the air free of salt so they don’t rust as much as they do in other places. This car is similar to one my grandparents took on a road trip from Iowa to San Diego when it was brand new in 1954. Do you have favorite old car photos to share?

Hi Steve,
Nothing beats a good road trip in a classic car. I really enjoy traveling through northern New Mexico during the fall when it’s cooler. The photos and memories are terrific. Other journeys are on my radar down the road.
Thanks, Dan! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, fall is a great time to check out back roads in northern NM. Colors are fabulous.
