During our travel to Ireland we visited the Drombeg Stone Circle in County Cork. Visitors can experience the quiet power that is still there after all these centuries. There’s also an old cooking pit at the site. Add Drombeg to your Ireland travel itinerary.

    This looks like a poor man’s Stonehenge, or a lazy one’s, or perhaps someone who is drinking too much. Knowing Ireland, I would bet on the latter. Even though it may not be impressive as Stonehenge, it still looks intriguing.

      Interestingly, this is as amazingly set as Stonehendge, the most impressive of stone circles. At sunset on the Winter Solstice, the rays of the setting sun fall on the top of the largest stone in the circle. Some amazing astronomical knowledge, magic or what?
